Charity School Bwejuu was officially registered with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar with registration no. PS/225 in 2004. This school has been established under Law no. 6 of 2006, of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
The school offers compulsory education for orphans and for students coming from poor or dysfunctional families at nocost, but if possible, the families of the students are required to contribute a small amount towards the running cost of the school. The teaching program of the Charity School Bwejuu provides for nursery (kindergarten), primary and secondary school education.
The medium of language is English, except for Swahili and Arabic language classes. Nursery education takes 2 years, the students receive 7 subjects: Swahili, English, Arabic, Mathematics, Islamic Study, Science, Game and Sport. The primary education ranges from standard 1 to standard 7 for students of ages 6 to 14 years. The primary education is divided into two categories: an initial primary level for standard 1 – 3, and a higher level for standard 4 - 7. They study Mathematics, Geography, IT, Swahili, English, Arabic, Science, as well as Islamic knowledge.
The Charity School Bwejuu added Secondary Education in 2014. We will have a science scholarship with 10 subjects at the same time, we will also offer a business scholarship with 11 subjects: Biology, Mathematics, Geography, IT, Kiswahili, English, Arabic, Commerce, Accounting and Civics, as well as Islamic knowledge.
Our mission is to work collaboratively to ensure every student achieves academically, socially, and emotionally by educate and provide food and medical support to them for better standard of living.
The School aim to reach Perfection in catering the needs of Orphans and Underprivileged children in terms of Food, Accomodation and Education in Bwejuu particurlarly and Zanzibar in general.
